One of the first restaurants on Dargan Street, Thai House offers authentic Thai food in a friendly atmosphere. Don’t miss the Thai Tea, a traditional brewed sweetened iced tea with heavy cream. And for dessert, try the mango and sweet sticky rice. You won’t be disappointed.
One restaurant bringing smokin’ to another level in downtown Florence is Wholly Smokin’ Downtown. They’re known for their traditional smoked barbecue fare as well as ribs and craft cocktails.
With a former S.C. Chef Ambassador leading the culinary team, Executive Chef and General Manager Cooper Thomas helps make Victors one of Florence’s best fine dining restaurants. It’s also the only restaurant in Florence to be awarded AAA’s 3-Diamond Award. Located in the lobby of Hotel Florence on Evans Street, it’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Locally sourced, they use ingredients from area farmers. Favorites: Anne’s Salad, Benton’s broccoli cornbread, and bacon-wrapped scallops.
Both restaurant and tea room, Top Hat Special-Teas is located in the heart of Florence. From the amazing iced-teas to the chicken salad, this quaint place also has soups that are second-to-none. Tip: Try the scones.
Town Hall is a more recent addition to the downtown scene, where executive chef Bobby Hodge creates a seasonal farm-driven, Southern-inspired dishes. And just above the restaurant is The Dispensary, Florence’s rooftop bar with elevated bar fare created by Hodge.
Missy’s Cafe serves soul food for lunch and dinner. Located at Coit and Darlington streets, family recipes and home-style cooking is at its best.
