The Eastern South Carolina Heritage Region highlights the Pee Dee region and coastal areas of the state, and features lots of stops at art galleries, farms, racetracks, museums, and botanical gardens.
Find Gullah traditions and soul food at the African American sites, and Marsh Tacky horses and U-pick strawberries at our agricultural sites. Dig into grits, boiled peanuts, and cane syrup at the culinary stops, and see artisan demos and a Broadway show at one of many arts & architecture sites. There’s plenty of kayaking, geocaching and nature trails as well, and a bunch of Revolutionary War history and even reenactments. You’ll get revved up with all the racing!
Golf, antiques shopping, farmers markets, the South Carolina Cotton Trail, Pecan and BBQ Trail are also included in the program. The full list of certified sites may be viewed at easternSCheritage.com
