Start your summer by growing with us! Using the museum’s courtyard, Students will learn how to find art in nature by creating a sustainable garden, identifying regional plants, following a plant from seed to harvest and making garden-inspired works of art.
Creating your own comic story can be so much fun! Students will develop comic book characters using two and three-dimensional art, learn the elements of a comic story, and write and draw a comic page or strip. Students will draw, paint, ink and sculpt their way to an awesome Comic Creation!

Mixed Media Mash-up July 15-19 / Ages 5-10 / Monday-Friday, 9 am-12 pm
Art is so much more than just paint on paper! Using a variety of art materials (some quite unusual), students will learn to combine media to create contemporary, vibrant works of art inspired by artworks found in the museum’s galleries.
Create using tie-dye, screen prints, weaving and more! Students will dive in to textile art by exploring cloth-making methods, dyeing techniques, and surface design. Each student will tie-dye and print their own t-shirt, explore the science of creating dyes, and practice traditional ways to make textiles into works of art.
