Florence County Scares Up Huge Collection of Halloween-Inspired Events!

BOOO!!! Not a ghost boo, but a regular boo, for having to weed through tons of posts and websites to find Halloween-inspired local Florence County events…but luckily we’ve done it for you!
Is everything here? Probably not, but it’s a lot. It’s a good idea to check with specific sites ahead of time to ensure times, etc. haven’t changed. Also, click on the event or event host for more info. Otherwise…have a GHOUL time!

Thursday, Oct. 25

Lights On Afterschool / Fall Fest from the City of Florence Recreation Department
5:30-7:30pm at 513 Barnes St
Games, food, music and special prizes for the best costumes. Duke Energy will also give out information on how their Shared Solar Program can reduce energy bills. Join us as we celebrate the fall and shine a light on the impact of afterschool programs.

 

Friday, Oct. 26

Florence Zombie Walk and Florence After Five
5:30pm
Become part of an undead army that invades Downtown Florence. Then live music and dancing, food and drink vendors, activities and games for the kids, and more at Florence After Five! All to raise money for a great cause!
General Admission TICKETS are $5. Purchase tickets (for the Zombie Walk) now via Eventbrite!

Trick-or-Treat with Telescopes
7-10pm
Come join Dooley Planetarium and The Society of Physics Students at the FMU Observatory. At 7 pm there’s hands-on activities for younger visitors…Be sure to bring a flashlight as it will be dark. We’ll be dressed up for halloween and invite you to do the same!

Durant Children’s Center Trick or Treat!

Trick or Treat! Join them this Saturday for some FALL fun & yummy treats! Wear your costumes and be prepared to enjoy yourself! 🎃

Spooktacular Downtown Double Feature
6-9pm
The BB&T Amphitheater at the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center features Halloween fun and outdoor movies! Kicks off with a family and children’s costume contest. At 7pm, enjoy a FREE screening of Hotel Transylvania outside on the lawn of the amphitheater. Food and drink vendors on-site; proceeds will benefit The CARE House of the Pee Dee.

At 9pm, adults are invited to TIME WARP their way to the BB&T Amphitheater for a participatory screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show! Prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed Rocky Horror fans and prop bags will be available for purchase. A $5.00 donation and photo ID are required to enter the Rocky Horror screening and the film is rated R. Seating for Rocky Horror will begin at 9:30pm and the film starts at 10pm.

Kids Spooktacular Halloween Party at Skateland USA
11am-1pm
Candy scramble, games, prizes, costume party and contest! Admission is $5 (includes skate rental).

BOOtanical Garden Trick or Treating at Moore Farms Botanical Garden
2-5pm
Free. Put on your best costumes for an enchanted Halloween afternoon. Trick-or-treating through the garden, pumpkin bowling, spooky punch, crafts, carnivorous plants…Experience the bewitchingly beautiful garden like never before, while the little ones enjoy a hauntingly good time.

Halloween ComicFest at Legends Comics
11am-6pm
Once again they Celebrate Halloween ComicFest, where comic book shops all around the world give away Halloween-themed comic books free.

Haunted Maze of Science from ScienceSouth
9:00 am-Noon
This Pavilion will transform into a haunted science maze! Participants will have to explore, investigate and engineer their way through spooky obstacles. From bone bridges to creature catchers, for $20 your child will have a spooktacular time!

Howl-O-Ween Party by Black Jack Harley-Davidson
9am-5pm
Carve pumpkin contest (you bring), photo booth, kids crafts, pet costume contests, trick or treating and more (click on the event link for details, including donations needed for animals). 100% of proceeds benefit the Florence Area Humane Society.

Howl-O-Ween At Red Bone hosted by Red Bone Alley

Howl-O-Ween Canine Costume Party hosted by Local Motive Brewing

Listen to the toons of Halloween while painting the King of Pop! Come dressed in your costume like you want to win a prize! Maybe you could be the lucky one! This is a BYOB paint party! Light snacks and painting supplies will be provided.

Annual Halloween Zombie Competition hosted by Blue Line Shooting Center

For ages 2-4; $8 per child. In costumes, it’ll be an exciting time as they mix up some creepy concoctions and discover the mystery behind density.

Locked Inn’s Halloween Escape-Fest

A free night of tricks and treats at Locked Inn Escape Rooms! games, snacks, face painting, music, and prizes for everyone. We encourage costumes for all ages! Everyone who dresses up will have a chance to win awesome prizes. Beer and Wine will be available for adults and candy for the children. The first 20 people will have the chance to win spook-tacular discounts.
