Moore Farms Botanical Garden Bringing the Spring in with Style!

Hey, spring is about to be…sprung? Here in the South that usually means we go from 50 to 80 degrees in a week, so prepare yourselves! 😊

The good news is that the spring flowers will be popping at Moore Farms Botanical Garden in Lake City yet again, though the garden is beautiful year-round regardless.

First up, Saturday, March 6 from 9am-noon…bee all you can bee! For $25 per person learn how to start your own bee colony in your backyard with the president of the Pee Dee Beekeepers Association, David Yannello. Yannello has been collaborating with Moore’s Horticulture Manager and resident beekeeper Laura Del Vecchio. Call 843-210-7592 to pay by phone or click here.

Next for Moore Farms is its free Bulbapalooza event March 13 from 8:30am-3pm where the garden opens for the spring to impress the public with its flower power courtesy of the vibrant color of daffodils, tulips, hyacinth and allium and more among the dogwoods, azaleas, redbuds and anemones. Viewing of the garden is by self-guided walking tours only, so dress accordingly. No registration is required.

The same day is Moore’s ticketed annual Garden Tea Party. Seats are selling out but check online and by calling 843-210-7592 to take in the eye-popping garden but with an additional hit of gourmet tea and finger foods from 1-3pm. Dress to impress! Tickets are $30 (covers 1 adult, 1 child) and $15 per additional guest.

Last but not least is its Wine Stroll Saturday, April 10 from 2-6pm. Rain or shine, take in the garden while sampling some of the region’s best wines. You MUST be 21 and older to attend. All proceeds benefit the Lake City Junior Sorosis Club. Tickets are VIP at $45 (includes a session with a sommelier, event wine glass and special gift), early bird at $30 (includes event wine glass to taste all of the selections) and gate entry day of for $35 (includes event wine glass to taste all of the selections). Lastly there is a designated driver ticket for $10. Tickets are available here.
