NASCAR is Back at Darlington Raceway with a Slate of Racing and Entertainment for the Entire Mother’s Day Weekend!

The BIG weekend is almost here! You can almost smell the gas and oil and hear the roar of the engines echoing from Darlington Raceway, as three races and a weekend of entertainment and NASCAR arrives for Mother’s Day weekend!

It’s all underpinned by all three NASCAR national series taking to the track with the Dead On Tools 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race Friday, May 6; the Mahindra ROXOR 200 NASCAR Xfinity Series race Saturday, May 7; and the Goodyear 400 NASCAR Cup Series race Sunday, May 8.

That Cup race is on Mother’s Day, so Darlington Raceway will honor our moms with pins for the first 3,500 mothers who enter the race.

Various ticket packages were still available at darlingtonraceway.com last we checked (or call 866-459-7223). Of note is that Cup Series driver Chase Elliott plans to run the Xfinity race.

There is an incredible slew of action off the track as well, anchored by the Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR.

“For the Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR, we will welcome race fans back to Darlington Raceway with more entertainment options than ever before,” said Darlington Raceway President Kerry Tharp. “We’re excited to have a host of NASCAR Hall of Famers and legends join us for our celebratory Throwback Weekend. We even have some exciting surprises to thank our loyal race fans and provide them with the opportunity to create some unexpected memorable moments throughout race week.”

Speaking of Hall of Famers, the complete list and schedule of appearances is here: https://bit.ly/3LoCKHv. Among the legends will be Mark Martin, Ward and Jeff Burton, Bobby Labonte, Ron Hornaday Jr., Bobby and Donnie Allison, Randy LaJoie and Ricky Craven.

On Wednesday, May 4, take on Track Laps for Charity from 6-8pm in your personal vehicle around The Lady in Black for a donation of $20. All proceeds will go towards Darlington Raceway Cares and the Hartsville American Legion. Try not to hit the wall! 😉 Register here: https://bit.ly/37TP1VU.

Then Thursday, May 5 is the Throwback Thursday 80’s Dance Party 7-9pm in the “midway”. It will feature “best mullet” contests (you know who you are), lip sync battles, glow-in-the-dark games and an air guitar contest. Food, music, track trivia and prizes will top off the 80s extravaganza.

Friday, May 6 from 4-6pm, kids from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Pee Dee will join fans at The NASCAR Foundation’s Speediatrics Fun Day Festival at the College Tailgate Zone adjacent to the track’s administration building on Harry Byrd Highway. Games, activities, and kids fun is guaranteed.

Not to be outdone, the Darlington Raceway Throwback Parade in the city of Darlington returns Saturday, May 7 at 6pm with floats, NASCAR Hall of Famers and legends, a marching band, beauty queens and vintage vehicles, ending up at the NASCAR Xfinity Garage in Darlington Raceway infield.
