Your first stop traveling Old River Road east from Florence is the town of Pamplico, home to the annual Cypress Festival in September, which features all sorts of amusement rides and live entertainment. There are arts-and-craft vendors, tennis clinics, and a car show as well. While you’re there check out the Dozier M. Munn Library, Pamplico Theater and Pamplico Mule Company buildings – all located on Main Street.

If you’re looking to stretch your legs, be sure to check out LaVerne Ard Park for its baseball and softball fields (you can have a picnic there, too), or the Dargan Park Place tennis courts for Tennis Quick Start Classes for youth.

If you’re in town in December, don’t miss the Pamplico Christmas Parade at 11 a.m. on the second Saturday in December.
