The Button Museum stands in honor of Dalton Stevens, who played songs on a button-covered guitar while wearing a button-covered suit.

In a little town called Bishopville, Dalton Stevens was a one-of-a-kind character who stayed up late at night to sew and glue buttons on everything he owned.

Dalton Stevens was “Button King” and the proprietor of the SC Button Museum. Dalton is listed in the Guinness World Book of Records as having had the largest personal collection of buttons, with over one million.

Dalton had made numerous appearances on the “Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson and “The David Letterman Show.”
