Nathan Harness is a biologist, an award-winning educator at Francis Marion University in Florence, SC, and a skilled macro photographer. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Truman State University in 2008 and his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Missouri in 2018.

His stunning insect portraits—often focusing on arthropods with camouflage or intricate physical traits—frequently spotlight his field expeditions to international biodiversity hotspots like the Ecuadorian Andes, as well as the native wildlife in the Pee Dee region.
