Throwing for Adults with Frankie J. Mixon

In pottery, a potter's wheel is a machine used in the shaping (known as throwing) of clay into round ceramic ware. The wheel may also be used during the process of trimming excess clay. This 4-week series is designed for students who have never used the potters wheel and students who are developing throwing skills. Students will learn how to center the clay on the wheel and make basic forms, such as mugs, bowls, and vases. The participants will learn how to finish their work with decorating and glazing techniques.

Dates & Times:

Thursdays from 6:00-8:00pm

Session 1: August 6, 13, 20, and 27

Session 2: September 3, 10, 17, and 24

Session 3: October 1, 8, 15, and 22

Session 4: November 5, 12, 19, and December 3

Investment:

$200 includes one 5lb bag of clay
