What a touching memorial. It makes you think about where you were when the Challenger tragedy happened. Seems like the memorial information building has not been open for awhile. When I went to the door to look in, the cobwebs truly attacked me! RIP Dr. McNair and the Challenger astronaut team!🙏🙏🙏

First time visiting Lake City was this past weekend. I visited with an amazing man who’s from the city and wanted to share some of its attractions with me. Although Lake City is a small town, it is actually a very beautiful community. As an outsider, I hope the residents can appreciate the evolution taking place. He showed and explained to me the new additions and attractions and I was moved. Small town people can do amazing things, too. This memorial park honoring the late Dr. Ronald E. McNair is breathtaking. I learned something new during my trip, and for that I’m thankful.

This was so disappointing 😞 looks like someone tried it to damage this monument.. This is very disturbing...Looks like FIRE... And the letter BLACK INK IN THE LETTERING was discolored. I chatted with a local, and he directed us to the monument because we overlooked it. He also stated that back in the day. When Mr. Mcnair entered that library they called the police on him because back then, Black people weren't allowed to go to the WHITE facilities..My question is why did the family allow this monument to be erected in this location...I think better in the community he come from..I'm just saying..I'm from Texas visiting your town..
