If it weren’t for Lori and Tom, we’d probably still be stranded somewhere in South Carolina. We were traveling west in our 2020 Newmar Dutch Star on our summer trip when we suddenly started having serious overheating issues. After calling nearly every shop within a 100-mile radius, we kept hearing the same answer: they couldn’t even look at our coach for another two to three weeks. In desperation, we called Trucking Services of Florence. Lori answered the phone and explained that they don’t normally work on RVs since they’re a truck repair facility. Even so, she didn’t just end the call. She told us she would speak with the manager and see if there was anything they could do to help. That one act of kindness changed everything. Lori spoke with her husband, Tom, who leads the mechanics at the shop. After hearing about our situation, they told us to come in Monday morning so they could at least run diagnostics. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in good hands. Tom has an incredible depth of knowledge when it comes to Cummins engines and Freightliner chassis. He’s one of those rare, old-school mechanics whose experience is immediately obvious. He can listen to an engine, understand what it’s is telling him, and often has a very good idea of the problem before the diagnostic computer even confirms it. Within a short time, he had identified the issue, ordered the necessary parts, and had our coach repaired within hours. What impressed us even more was how thoroughly he inspected our engine. He pointed out several maintenance items that should have been addressed by the dealership that has serviced our RV for years—services we had been paying for but apparently were never completed. He walked us through everything with honesty, patience, and incredible attention to detail. When we left, our coach ran like it hadn’t since the day we bought it. The engine was smoother, quieter, and stronger than we had experienced in years. Lori and Tom didn’t have to help us. They could have simply said, “Sorry, we don’t work on RVs.” Instead, they chose compassion over convenience and helped travelers who were in a difficult situation. We will never forget their kindness, professionalism, and expertise. If you have a Cummins-powered truck or a Freightliner chassis and are anywhere near Florence, this is the shop you want. They have earned our trust and our highest recommendation. Thank you, Lori and Tom. You truly saved our trip.

I cannot say enough good things about Lori and Tom. From the moment I arrived, they treated me with professionalism, respect, and a genuine desire to help. My semi truck needed attention, and Tom worked tirelessly to make sure everything was taken care of properly. He didn’t stop until he had done everything possible to get me safely back on the road. As a truck driver, staying on schedule is extremely important, and thanks to their hard work and dedication, I was able to continue delivering my loads without unnecessary delays. It’s rare to find people who truly care about their customers the way Lori and Tom do. If you need service for your semi truck, this is the place to go. Truck Service of Florence really helped us out in a pinch. Our family was stranded on the side of the road when our RV bus broke down with an electrical issue. Jim was fantastic. He talked us through all of the things we needed to do, took care of all of the details for getting us towed and secured, and made the transaction extremely smooth and efficient. Couldn't recommend this place more. He took care of us like family, and I don't use that lightly. When you're in a pinch, Jim (and Truck Service of Florence) is your guy.
