Dr. Ronald E. McNair Memorial 5K Run/Walk
The McNair 5K event is an annual event sponsored by the Ron McNair Committee, Lake City, SC. Their mission is to promote health and physical fitness for all ages.
Their format and schedule includes a half mile Kids run, for the kids 12 and under, a 1 mile fun walk, and the 5K run (main event). Trophies and awards will be given to winners in the 5K Event and the Kids run.
The race course makes use of the city streets of Lake City, and will be available on the website for the Ronald McNair Committee.
In addition to the races. they will also host a free health fair with health screenings, vaccinations, and other health related information/kits for distribution will be available.
At noon there will be a fly over by the Southeast Aviators Group of Black Pilots to honor the life of Dr. Ronald E. McNair.
