Jeffery Geller Ceramics
Jeffery Geller studied painting and sculpture in southern California from junior high through his undergraduate education, and continued while in graduate school at Duke University and while teaching philosophy and logic at UNC-Pembroke. Over the last several years, he has worked in ceramics and in collage and montage, as well as painting directly on glass. With his wife Irina Shin-Geller, he co-owns and operates Red Springs Artspace.
“I work across painting (acrylics, inks, oils on paper and canvas), collage, printed fabric, and ceramics. Paintings often feature dynamic figures and abstract energies, built through layered mark-making and color. Ceramics focus on organic, sculptural forms with rich surfaces. The process is intuitive and material-driven, informed by philosophical themes of presence, time, and personalism.”
