This store is always clean and most of the staff are friendly. The older lady who works the self checkout is my favorite! My only issue is whomever is making the house made tortilla chips is trying to give everyone hypertension. Those chips are always too heavily salted. To the point of being inedible sometimes. I purchased a bag that had grease swimming through the bottom of the plastic. Eeeeyuck!

I shopped in this store on 12/20/2025. Part way through my shopping I began to feel unwell. When I was checking out, I asked the young man at the register if it was possible to have someone help me take the groceries to my car. He stood at the end of the checkout and caught the eye of someone over him, who gave him permission to take my cart out. I was indeed very grateful, and impressed at his level of compassion and pleasure to provide service. So, Food Lion on Pamplico Hwy., in Independence Center, Florence, SC- thank you for allowing me to express thanks to Robert, the cashier.

Even though the general manager, there has an attitude always and always looks like she’s irritated what she needs to be doing as checking the temperatures in the refrigerator section where the chicken and the pork is they’re always off and the chicken packages are always inflated. I don’t know what’s going on, but yes, it’s mostly clean and you can find some seasonal veggies and fruits. It changes often but other than that, it’s OK. The cashiers are always nice.
